Signal Share: How to Start on Your Film
  • Cost: Free
  • Capacity: 25

Join us at our monthly member meet up for a talk on how take your projects from ideation to production!

Signal Share is our monthly meet up for Open Signal members, featuring guest artists, skill shares, and an opportunity to connect!

This month, join us for a talk on how take your projects from ideation to production with guidance and support from experienced producers. Filmmaker Maria Moreno will take you through the steps necessary to prepare your project for filming, including: how to break down a script, where to look for cast and crew, gear resources, and so much more!

We recommended that you bring a specific project to workshop but this is not required.

Maria Moreno (she/her) is a Venezuelan filmmaker working between Miami, FL & Portland, OR. Her work explores themes of existentialism & belonging, particularly within marginalized communities, while focusing on the lightness that can be found in everyday life. She is currently working as a freelance producer & assistant director on projects for clients such as TIME, Artists Repertory Theater, & the Portland Bureau of Transportation, as well as bands like Sleater Kinney & Y La Bamba. She also works as the Film Career Manager for the nonprofit organization Outside The Frame and manages the Oregon Media Production Assistant Training Program in collaboration with the Oregon Film office. In her free time, Maria programs community film screenings centering Latine stories.
