Intro to Cinematography:
  • Ages: 16+
  • Total Hours: 12 (Four x 3-hour sessions: Wed/Thurs 6-9pm or Fridays 6-9pm)

This introductory class dives into collaborative storytelling with Open Signal’s lights, audio gear and Canon C100 MKII cameras through the creation of a small group production.

In this four-session production class for beginners, students will explore the basics of cinematography through a study of the Canon C100 camera. This class introduces you to the art of visual storytelling, from storyboarding and screenwriting to frame rates, exposure, peaking and ISO, as well as camera movements and framing. You’ll also be grouped into teams and create a short project with Open Signal’s field production equipment, including our lights and audio gear.  

Certification: This workshop will certify you to check out our Canon C100MKII cameras, tripods, Loop Light Pads, Velvet and Flo LED field lights, video monitors, audio recorder and dolly. In exchange, submit your work to air on public access TV channels!
