Open Signal is seeking a warm and resourceful individual to join our team as Fundraising & Communications Assistant, a vital role in expanding our visibility and strengthening relationships with our community and supporters in Portland, Oregon.
Open Signal’s mission is to nurture the change-making power of community media in service of a just and equitable world. Our staff are a diverse community of teachers, media artists, social activists and nonprofit professionals. We’re building upon the 35-year legacy of Portland Community Media to create a media arts resource unlike anything else in the Pacific Northwest.
The Communications and Fundraising Assistant specializes in providing support to the Director of Growth and Director of Communications and Distribution. The Assistant will play a pivotal role in growing Open Signal’s visibility, relationships, and community of participants and supporters. Through community outreach and by fostering a supportive and resource-rich environment, this position is instrumental in supporting organizational sustainability and impact.

I lead Open Signal's resource building efforts from grassroots fundraising to corporate sponsorships. I'm coming to Open Signal with 15 years experience in community organizing and political action, communications, fundraising, grant writing, and volunteer coordination for social justice activist groups and environmental organizations.
I currently sit on the Board of Crag Law Center. I am pleased to reconnect with media arts and to bring my skills and experience to a new field. I stay committed to fearless curiosity and radical, exponential change, so hold on tight!
