Join us for a skillshare on Open Broadcaster Software led by Eric Klein.

Building on our monthly member meetups, Signal Shares are a space for Open Signal members to connect! Each month, we gather with Open Signal staff, producers, supporters and special guests to catch up and share what we've been up to. All are welcome!

This month, join us for a skillshare on Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) led by longtime Open Signal producer Eric Klein.

OBS is a free software that is the go-to for many of today's live streamers. It can also be a powerful and versatile tool for video creators to use on their projects, whether videos are already recorded or streamed live. With OBS you can create all manner of video layouts and graphics in real time — including the use of multiple webcams, screen sharing, text, web browsers (including YouTube content), pre-recorded videos and still images. You can also use this software to mix multiple audio sources. In this skillshare you'll learn the basics of this fun and powerful software and introduce some ideas to put OBS to use in your video projects or live streams.

Eric Klein has been a producer at Open Signal since 2017. He currently is using OBS to control a lot of complex and silly background images and videos on a series produced in Studio B with the green screen.

Instructor

Vo McBurney Studio Productions Coordinator & Trainer vo [at] opensignalpdx.org

As the Studio Productions Coordinator & Trainer, I am here to ensure that your studio productions are a success. I can help you with everything from reserving your gear to answering (and solving) your HD studio questions.

I currently teach the Intro to Studio Production class, and am proficient in all of the gear that we have in our equipment library so feel free to reach out with any technical questions. I'm more of a Star Wars guy than a Star Trek guy, but I've been known to hang out with a few Trekkies.
