Chris Polanco has been a producer at Open Signal since 2016. He has over a decade of experience in live audio, carried with him when transitioning into the filmmaking world and learning field audio. Chris is now the Audio Engineer leading the transition to full digital audio in Open Signal's studios — the very same studios he first used a digital audio board in.
Signal Share: Field Audio Skill Share
- Cost: Free
- Capacity: 12
This month at our member meet up, join us for a skill share on field audio led by Chris Polanco — free for members.
Signal Share is our monthly member meet up, a space for Open Signal members to connect and build community knowledge.
This month, Chris Polanco will lead a free skill share on field audio for our members! From the outside, field audio can appear to be one of the most technical and nerve-wracking aspects of filmmaking. As the saying goes, “You can forgive bad video but you can never forgive bad audio.”
Through this skill share you'll learn that field audio is more of an art than a science, and with a few standard techniques in your toolkit it will boil down to one of the most approachable aspects of filmmaking. Join us for a deep dive into using Zoom F8 Multitrack Field Recorder on your productions. You'll soon find it to be an essential part of your audio kit, and feel like a pro audio operator as you learn the standard practices and mic placing techniques used on every set.
