Open Signal Secures Funding to Launch Portland Music Industry Production Showcase
March 14, 2025
Open Signal is thrilled to announce that we have secured enough funding to officially begin production on Beyond Entertainment, an exciting new live music series that will spotlight Portland’s vibrant and diverse music scene. This funding milestone ensures that we can bring the first episode to life—highlighting local BIPOC musicians, sharing their artistry, and providing hands-on media production training for emerging media professionals.
This project has been made possible through generous support from the Oregon Arts Commission’s Arts Build Communities grant, the Regional Arts & Culture Council, and additional funders committed to uplifting Portland’s creative community. Beyond Entertainment will feature live performances, artist and producer interviews, and behind-the-scenes insights into the city’s evolving music industry.
“This series is more than entertainment — it’s a celebration of culture, a professional training ground, and a movement toward greater inclusion in media and the music industry,” says RaShaunda Brooks, Director of Partnered Media at Open Signal.
With our initial funding secured, we are calling on our community to help sustain this vision.
How to Support
We invite supporters, music lovers, and advocates for equitable media representation to donate to help fund future episodes. You can make a direct impact by donating through Open Signal’s website (mention Partnered Media in the comment box!) and by spreading the word about this groundbreaking new series. Every dollar raised goes toward artist fees, production costs, and making this platform sustainable for years to come.
Your contributions will ensure that more artists receive the visibility and resources they deserve while strengthening Portland’s creative ecosystem.
Stay tuned for more updates, including artist announcements and air dates for the first episode. Follow Open Signal on social media and visit opensignalpdx.org for the latest news on Beyond Entertainment and other productions from Open Signal’s Partnered Media.
