Light-based art installations by Pulsar Studio teens, New Media Fellows and Future Forum artists during the Portland Winter Lights Festival.

During .::Radiate::., Open Signal will be illuminated by light-based art installations exploring how ideas can inspire change, created by:

- Students from Pulsar Studio, our drop-in media arts program for teens ages 14 to 18. Media created during each session is combined into a collaborative art installation designed and constructed with support from Instrument. This season’s installation is inspired by the project, Brown Boy Feelings, led by emerging artists: Tyler White, Ibrahim Ibrahim, Joti Mangat and Juma Sei.

- Artists from Future Forum, our 10-month training program that provides time, access to resources, and mentorship for artists who want to experiment radically with art, technology, and social engagement. Its inaugural cohort includes Ashlin Aronin, RaShaunda Brooks, Saint James, Maura Campbell-Balkits, Sam Cohen, Fernanda D'Agostino, Sophia Emigh, Jaleesa Johnston and Ariella Tai. Find a full list of the works here.

- New Media Fellow manuel arturo abreu, a poet and artist from the Bronx. They work with text, ephemeral sculpture, and photography. They are the author of List of Consonants and transtrender. They co-facilitate home school, a free pop-up art school in Portland, OR.

Thank you to Mt. Hood Cable Regulatory Commission, Instrument and the Regional Arts & Culture Council for supporting these programs.
