Online Launch Party and Livestream Extravaganza

Open Signal is launching a new digital network — join us for a day of films, music and interviews to celebrate and raise money for the Black Media Maker Response Fund!

Open Signal is launching a new digital network, a place for Portland to see itself and be seen. We highlight work from local, independent media makers and community organizations. We believe in creating people-driven alternatives to mass media—and that media should be available anytime, from anywhere.

To kick off our new network, join us for a livestream featuring work from Open Signal Labs' Black Filmmaker Fellows, an interview with Don't Shoot PDX, footage from Open Signal's archive, DJ sets from Chuckk Pasta and DJ NO.Bi.Es and Deena Bee, and more! This event is a fundraiser for the Our Stories, Our Lives Black Media Maker Response Fund.

This event will stream on Open Signal's new site: watch.opensignalpdx.org/streams. The stream starts at 3pm PT on August 22nd.

Open Signal is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for the community. Open Signal is a Safer Space for people of color, immigrants, gender non-conforming, low/no income groups, houseless, people with disabilities, linguistically diverse and other marginalized communities who have experienced systemic racism, sexism, classism and/or oppression. We encourage the creation and sharing of content that expresses a wide variety of cultural, social, political and spiritual perspectives. Treating all people with respect and kindness is expected - even if you don’t agree with all perspectives.

We require all members of our community to agree to our Safer Space Community Guidelines and to be accountable for the impact of their actions on others who use the space. Physical and verbal abuse will not be tolerated. All threats will be taken seriously, and will result in removal from the facility.
