Work on a team to complete a music video for local artists in our second ever Make-A-Thon!

Registration for this event is now closed.

Join us for the return of the Open Signal Make-a-Thon on Saturday, June 18th! Create a short film, from start to finish in one day, with the help of a team of community members and Open Signal staff. This year, we’re doing things a little differently — in honor of the Juneteenth celebrations happening in our neighborhood all weekend, we'll be making music videos for Black Portland-based musicians, with some help from our friends at The Numberz FM! Work in a team to record and edit music videos for these artists, and we’ll screen all the videos later that night in our studio.

The Music Video Make-a-Thon will be a great opportunity to learn more about Open Signal membership and flex your creative muscles with fellow filmmakers! Three teams will be assigned a song, write a concept, and then record and edit a 2-3 minute music video – all in six hours. Songs and teams will be randomly assigned and each team will have a staff member assist them through the planning and managing of the filming process. Stay tuned for an announcement of artists!

Open Signal will provide equipment, locations, meals, and celebratory snacks during the screening. We’ll meet at our building at 10am for an all-hands-on-deck huddle and breakfast, with final pieces due at 7pm. Then at 7:30pm we'll celebrate with a screening of final pieces in Studio A.

Fill out the form below to save your spot — be sure to register by May 23rd!
