Signal Share: Elijah Hasan Artist Talk + Have Your Headshot Taken
  • Cost: Free
  • Capacity: 35

Celebrate Community Media Day with us with a talk from Elijah Hasan and the opportunity to get your professional headshot taken!

Building on our monthly member meetups, Signal Shares are a space for Open Signal members to connect! Each month, we gather with Open Signal staff, producers, supporters and special guests to catch up and share what we've been up to. All are welcome.

This month, we're celebrating Community Media Day! Community Media Day is an annual celebration of voices that brings awareness to the importance of free speech and accessible media for all individuals to have their voices heard.

Join us as we welcome long time Open Signal producer Elijah Hasan for an artist talk. Elijah Hasan is an award winning filmmaker, photographer, composer and writer. As a teaching artist, he has introduced young people to creative filmmaking, photography, and multiple multimedia disciplines. We will be screening some of Elijah’s work that highlights his evolution as a filmmaker and how photography has influenced his work throughout the years. As a working artist Elijah has participated in various programs at Open Signal including our Black filmmaker fellowship, Open Signal LABS.

We will also have an opportunity to have your headshot taken by photographer Casey Minter for use in your professional creative pursuits! If you're interested, come early (photos start at 5pm) or stay after the talk!
