Full Circle: 360° Films from Youth of Open Signal and Outside the Frame

Immerse yourself in one-of-a-kind 360° films by young people who have experienced houselessness in OMSI's planetarium.

During the long pandemic winter of 2021, Outside the Frame and Open Signal collaborated to teach immersive media production to 12 young artists who have experienced houselessness. The five featured films are the result of these workshops, and focus on Portland places that hold meaning for the youth filmmakers, inviting the viewer to see the world through their eyes. The project builds upon Outside the Frame's focus on media education for marginalized youth, and Open Signal's past explorations with immersive media for unique storytelling. Local VR company ForeverVR provided additional editing and educational support.

Catch one of two screenings in the planetarium, at 6:15 (doors at 6pm) or 7pm (doors at 6:45pm). Join us to celebrate these stunning new works with a reception in the lobby from 6:00 to 8:30pm. The filmmakers will be in attendance.

Tickets are sliding scale. All donations will be split between the two organizations, supporting free programs for underrepresented storytellers. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
