Learn to use the Mobile Cast Unit to record and stream live events on location at this month's Signal Share.

Signal Share is our monthly member meet up, a space for Open Signal members to connect and build community knowledge. This month, learn to use the Mobile Cast Unit (MCU) to record and stream live events on location with Open Signal producer Rupert Wild.

Do you want to be able to film live events with multiple camera angles to cut between? Do you want to film live performances of musicians? Comedians? Public Speakers? Panel discussions? Award ceremonies? Then this is the skill share for you! The Mobile Cast Unit is Open Signal's Studio B in a neat suitcase format, making it so that you can bring a studio in the back of your car to any location.

You'll get hands-on experience with setting up the MCU and step-by-step guidance on what every single button does. This unit includes the DataVideo HS-1600T, 3 PTZ robotic cameras, Yamaha mixer, Atomos recorder/monitor and a MacBook Pro for graphics and streaming.

This event is free for Open Signal members — please be sure to donate so your membership is up-to-date before registering for this talk. If you would like to become a member but cannot donate please contact courtneyrae(@)opensignalpdx.org

Completing this skill share certifies you to check out the Mobile Cast Unit for use offsite. Reservations are made for check out/return on Fridays and Saturdays. By checking out equipment you agree to upload your content to our cable access channels.
