Signal Share: Works in Progress with Woodrow Hunt

Signal Share: Works in Progress with Woodrow Hunt
  • Cost: Free
  • Capacity: 12

Signal Share is a monthly meetup for Open Signal members to connect and collaborate! Gather with Open Signal staff, producers, supporters and special guests to catch up and share what we've been up to.

Need extra eyes on your project? Want to see if your experimental approach is landing? Would a test audience help you to see how your creative intention is coming across? This month, share your works in progress! If you've been at work on a project, bring a short clip, scene, or your ideas to share with the group.

Please send any video clips you would like to show at the meet up to woodrow@opensignalpdx.org by July 22nd!

Don't have a current work in progress but interested in getting inspired by someone's project and willing to lend your insight to support? Come check out what your creative colleagues are working on!

Refreshments provided.

This event is for those with a current membership. Donate any amount to renew your membership!

Facilitator

Woodrow Hunt Fundraising and Communications Assistant woodrow [at] opensignalpdx.org

Pronouns He/Him/His

Klamath/Modoc and Citizen of the Cherokee Nation

As the Fundraising and Communications Assistant I am supporting both our internal growth strategies and public communications. I aim to create communications that reflect the stories coming out of the Open Signal community and increase capacity for fundraising to support that work.

I was born and raised in Portland, OR and since 2017 I have worked within the Indigenous community throughout Oregon and Washington creating documentaries and short videos focused on education and cultural preservation through my production company Tule Films. During that time I have gained experience in grant writing and donor relations. Bridging community and media has been a passion of mine throughout my career.

Open Signal is a Safer Space

Open Signal is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for the community. Open Signal is a Safer Space for people of color, immigrants, gender non-conforming, low/no income groups, houseless, people with disabilities, linguistically diverse and other marginalized communities who have experienced systemic racism, sexism, classism and/or oppression. We encourage the creation and sharing of content that expresses a wide variety of cultural, social, political and spiritual perspectives. Treating all people with respect and kindness is expected - even if you don’t agree with all perspectives.

We require all members of our community to agree to our Safer Space Community Guidelines and to be accountable for the impact of their actions on others who use the space. Physical and verbal abuse will not be tolerated. All threats will be taken seriously, and will result in removal from the facility.

If you have a safety concern to report, please talk to any member of our front desk staff, or complete our online form at bit.ly/opensignalsafetyconcern.
